Description

The Hemingway Marina, located in the capital of the island, is a sort of flagship center in the field of nautical activities, known also at international level for its role as organizer of renowned events, including regattas and fishing tournaments. The center is able to assimilate in its four channels - each of five meters deep - up to 400 boats, and even provide about 200 of them with the conditions for life on board.

This facility offers several diving courses in which international certification is obtained. The seabed of the coast, in front of the city, descends gradually. The access, in some points, is easy and fast given the proximity of these with respect to the coast, although there are places that can be accessed from a boat. The best places to dive are between 5 and 35 meters deep and have gorgonian gardens, sponge meadows, different species of corals and the remains of sunken ships. This area is noted for the presence of a variety of coral fish and crustaceans.
